You will learn how to build anchoring scripts for any debate tournament in this course. In order to better comprehend all types of students, I'll try to use a straightforward approach throughout this session.
The program's starting procedure.
The program's anchor should open by saying anything that can grab the audience's attention. An intriguing quotation, a well-known passage, or even a little poem on the subject of the argument can serve as a fantastic place to start.
Hello and pleasant evening/morning/day to everyone! Your host for the debate tournament today/tonight is [your name]. All of you are cordially invited to the event. We feel extremely pleased to have our esteemed principal, Mr. or Mrs. [name], key guests, esteemed instructors, esteemed parents, and of course, all the participants and beloved pupils, among us. I'm so happy you're all here with us today or tonight, and I invite you to watch and take in the show.
We have [number of students; for example, twelve] smart students with us today/tonight who will participate in the debate competition and express their opinions on the subject matter. It will be interesting to observe the arguments for and against the subject that will be made.

The Judges are presented
Before calling the participants to the stage, the presenter should formally introduce the judges.
Before calling the competitors to the stage, I'd like to briefly introduce the judges for the competition taking place today/tonight. The honourable Mr./Mrs. [name] and Mr./Mrs. [name] are here today to assess the participants' arguments for both their content and presentation. A warm round of applause for our judges is in order. I'm thankful.
Specifying the Regulations for the Contest
Each debating competition will have some rules. These rules could change depending on the contest. Before the competition begins, an anchor should make this announcement. Please enable me to read the competition's regulations before we start.
Speeches shouldn't go over Five minutes or come in under four. One point will be deducted for every fifteen seconds when the permitted time is exceeded or decreased.
- It is against the rules to use language in this competition that could be seen as reinforcing racial, cultural, or gender stereotypes.
- There may be no more persuading arguments stated during the reply period.
- The judges' decision will be final and is required to be followed.
- I hope everyone who participates will abide by the rules.
Details about the Participants
At this point, I believe we are all prepared for the start of this competition. So, let me introduce our first speaker for the day or night, Mr. or Ms. [name], from [class number]. Please join hands and give him or her a thunderous round of applause.
The anchor must call the next performer to the stage once each participant has finished their segment.
Thank you, [name] Mr./Ms. That was fantastic. You did a really good job. Take a seat, please. I'd like to now call Mr. or Ms. [name] to the podium as the following speaker. Please applaud heartily for him or her.
Calling the Principal to the stage
After all the artists have finished and gone back to their seats, the anchor may ask the principal to address the crowd.
That discussion was superb. Everyone gave very fantastic performances. I'm so appreciative that I got to witness such an incredible experience. I want to sincerely thank Mr. or Mrs. [name] for their support and for giving us the go-ahead to host this competition. I would be immensely grateful if our great Principal Sir or Ma'am could take the podium and say a few words. I appreciate it.
Once the principal has finished speaking, the anchor should thank them and then let them go back to their seats.
I sincerely appreciate your kind sentiments, Sir or Ma'am. The audience, will you please give him/her a rousing round of applause? Sir/Madam, thank you very much.
Release the Results
The anchor may call the judges to the stage to announce the winners.
I had a lot of fun competing today/tonight. Each speaker did a wonderful job of clearly communicating their arguments and was well-prepared. Even if everyone performed wonderfully, we still need to know who the judges believed was the best. Who won the prize? I'd like to now call our renowned judges Mr./Ms. [name] and Mr./Ms. [name] to the podium to announce the debate competition's winners. We would appreciate some applause as we greet the judges.
Following the judges' declaration of the winners:
